"..the computer prints by children... quite a spectacle
and an enchanting one...because the participants
were encouraged to relate to the intrinsic properties
of the digital medium..

...while their natural intuition devoid of pre-
conceptions grasped links with the changing look of
the world and ways of expressions which shape our
sensibilities under the medium's impact...

portraits of close people convey the unusual intense
direction a serious touching naivette which bring
out the child's self identifying immediacy.

the computer's inherent traits like its' specific
enlarged textures with the strong dark outline which
blurs jaggedly on edges are suitable here.

children boldly and with atunement used the psyche-
delic minglements of distinct and dissolving,
shimmering hues and strokes for the enhancements for
the typical young expressionistic overstress.

freedom with the medium helped...to turn conventional
stylisations into authentic images.

...on the other hand, rebuild the the artificial
glamour of digital means can respond and emphasise
the necessary artful distortion.

the pure simplification of shapes possible here
together with manipulating light, transluscence and
superimpositions which infuse a feel of space and
depth interactions, can lead to fine, near-abstract
compositions.

some of the best pictures rely more on the computer
generated design proper, but evolve phantasmagoric
atmospheres, simultaneously contemporary and ancient.

the show is a treat..."
